Always keep your assigned wrist band and break cards on you. We are not responsible for any lost break cards or wrist bands.
To be eligible for the top 3 prizes OR the costume prize, your goal is to dance until you drop—our goal is to make you drop.
We will have random challenges throughout the night that you must at least attempt in order to continue with the event and not be eliminated by the judges. These challenges can include, but are not limited to- running around the dance space, jumping jacks, plank, running in place, etc.
You must adhere to all rules or you will be eliminated from the competition.
When a judge says you are out, that is the final word. We have instructed our judges on what is fair and honest.
Please remember that this event is meant to be fun and to help us renovate our new studio, so please keep that in mind if you are competitive—follow the rules and you won’t be eliminated!
Break time cards must be followed EXACTLY.
To ensure the break times are fair for everyone, you must check out with a judge who will write the time you returned down on your card, and check back in with a judge who will write down your return time.
If you do not make it back within your allotted break time, and do not have a second break card that you can use to cover the difference, you will be eliminated from the competition.
Each person will have 3-5 minute bathroom cards, 2 3 minute water re-fill cards, and 1 emergency card they can use throughout the night- each card may only be used one time.
This is a family-friendly event.
Please use your best judgement when dancing.
We will do our best to provide a family friendly playlist for our guests to have fun to, but we do ask that you respect the families that might be in attendance.
Clothing and attire should also be family-friendly.

Psalm 149 Q&A’s
-
Psalm 149 Dance is a performance based ministry established in 2016 with a desire to open the minds and hearts of our audiences to how truly loved they are, teach them that their art and faith can co-exist, and to celebrate the beauty of God's creation. We believe God is worthy of our art and delights when we use our gifts to be co-creators.
Studio 149 is a dance and fitness space created to invite our audience to participate in that experience. 1 Corinthians 6 teaches us that our bodies are temples, so in light of that, we choose to lead our students, clients, and dancers through dance and fitness practices that fortify the body, while refraining from harmful strain, and celebrating each individual.
Here our community will find a wide range of classes that suit their preferences and cater to their bodies needs, while challenging its limits. We want dance to be affordable and accessible to anyone who has the desire to move, and to create a safe space where anyone who walks through our doors knows instantly that they are loved exactly as they are, and completely welcomed into our family. Each person adds beauty to this place where their voice, their story, and their art matter deeply. Where the instructors and leaders are willing to learn and grow from what each student has to offer, as much as they are dedicated to sharing what we have learned so far.

In the middle of the pandemic, the Lord blessed us with the opportunity to open a studio space, but it was never meant to be long term and we always knew that we would outgrow renting a space from the Church we have been at. We are excited to be relocating to a space here in town that seems to be exactly what we have been praying for, but it needs work to be functional as a studio space for us. We are renting, and we have been saving for years to eventually build our own space, so we want to make sure we are not losing all of our savings on a space we do not get to keep.
The funds raised at this event will go towards making this space safe, and functional for our needs as a company. The main area of our new location used to be a boat repair shop. It needs an entrance door, insulation and AC/heating unit, to remove some tool boxes/work benches/peg boards/etc., remove some low ceiling fans for safety reasons, and a few other cosmetic issues. The second space we plan to work on is a carport area previously used as a place to park. We plan to enclose the carport space, turning it into a multi-functional space for lifts as the first space has low ceilings, a waiting area for parents during class times, private lessons, and personal training sessions. For this project we will need materials for the walls, doors, AC/heat unit, insulation, etc. Basically, our goal is to climate control both spaces, maximize the use of the space, as well as make them safe for the intended use.
The funds you help us raise at this event will go towards making this rental a temporary home for our dance family. We are also ALWAYS open to connections and help where we can find it, so if anything on this list is you or a loved one’s area of expertise and you think they might be able to assist in this process, please let us know!
