Renesheia Armstrong was born and raised in El Dorado, AR. She started dancing in the church in middle school and eventually joined her high school dance team. She moved to San Marcos for university to continue her education and become a better dancer. Neshia joined Psalm 149 in the fall of her junior year and believes that God put her in this company to help build her confidence and strengthen her faith. She has now been with the company for four years. Neshia graduated from TXST with her bachelor's in Dance and a minor in Japanese in the Spring of 2021. Currently, she works as an Elementary School dance teacher and assistant to the community college's dance department, and next spring, she will be moving to Japan to further her education. She will continue to worship the Lord through dance and also hopes to one day start her own dance ministry.

My favorite thing about this company is that it feels like home. No matter how long it's been since we may have seen each other between rehearsals or our day-to-day lives, once we walk through the doors it feels like not much has changed and a huge weight has been lifted off. There's never any judgment and everyone has always been welcoming. Psalm 149 feels more like a little family that Angie has put together so well. Another thing I love is just being able to dance and worship with people who also love Jesus.

This is morgan’s 4th year dancing with psalm 149! morgan started dancing at a young age & has performed & competed in various styles of dance. her favorite style is jazz! morgan coaches girls athletics at new braunfels middle school, as well as gymnastics. her favorite part about being in the company is the vulnerable environment. she said “it’s not frowned upon to be vulnerable in this company & it’s super assuring. it feels so great going to rehearsals and events with others in the company, knowing there’s no judgement in anything I do. everyone is so welcoming & is always available for support, no matter what it may be. it’s been my safe space for the last couple years, especially when I’ve felt like I have no one else to turn to. we’re a family”

Amber has been a part of Psalm 149 for 6 years! She is a Corpus Christi native and began dancing at a studio from a young age; learning, performing, and competing in a variety of dance techniques. She graduated from Texas State University in 2017 with a BFA in Dance Studies and a BA in Psychology. She is a strong advocate for disability rights, including mental health awareness, and is currently working in the Disability Services field. Dancing is an art which fills her heart with joy. She hopes to continue to share this love through her involvement with Psalm 149!

Angeline grew up knowing Christ, but it was not until college and her partnership at the Austin Stone Community Church that she was truly transformed by His love. In 2012 as she was graduating High School, the Lord laid dance heavily on her heart and a vision for dance ministry. She began her journey through the Dance Department at Texas State University and spent her time as an undergrad dancing, studying the word of God, and discovering all of the ways she could give her talents back to her creator. Upon earning her Bachelor’s degree in dance and English, she went against her instinct to apply for full time jobs that would insure financial security, and to instead place her future in God’s hands, trusting Him completely. Through much prayer and divine influence, she was able to start Psalm 149 Dance Ministries in September of 2016. Since then the Lord has blessed her and this ministry in ways far greater than she could have asked or imagined. Her prayer is for the Lord to continue to bless this ministry so that she can fully dedicate her life to serving the Lord with the passions He gave her.

Nico is the Youth Director at San Pedro Presbyterian Church and loves investing in youth as they journey and grow in their faith. He is also part founder and owner of Overflow, Psalm149’s long-time partner ministry, where he collaborates with passionate individuals to inspire creative worship while also providing resources and services that help make events special. While partnering with Psalm149, Nico felt inspired to experience worship through movement and has been dancing with the company for the last 4 years. In the future, Nico plans on attending Seminary to pursue his master’s degree and advance God’s kingdom by planting and pastoring a church.

Jazzmin is 23 years old and grew up in New Braunfels, Texas, where she fell in love with the art of dance. She joined the Younger Generation Company in the early years of the company and loved that she could praise the lord in a unique way. God has blessed her with the opportunity to stay with the company for so many years and use this as an outlet to create a stronger bond with her faith.

Kate Davis has been dancing with the company for three years (where has the time gone?) and is a long-time friend and schoolmate of our fearless leader, Angeline Carrillo. Kate has been dancing for almost all her life and is fond of many styles, but her favorite is tap. When not at work, you can usually find her participating in theater in San Antonio, picking up a new craft or hobby, or being a couch potato and finding a new show to binge with her husband and two rescue dogs, Cortana and Ripley. Luke 1:37.
